Word of the Day: Ford
The "Ford" is a flat traversable body in a river. Today
completely unnecessary, because every few yards were built on every gully (small river) bridges (at least in our area) for security in recent time are plastered with signs (speed limit 30, no vehicles over 16 tons, etc.).
In my childhood I knew at least 3 fords that we visited regularly and it was a pleasure to keep trying to get dry clothes on the other side, to then deduct the leech of the calves;)
